Living in today’s world often means being able to deal with pressure when it arises and stress as it piles up. Being in a dynamic environment means that sometimes things will not go according to plan, and in order to succeed, you must be motivated and be able to sustain performance during times of pressure and stress.
I’ve written other posts on the topic and it keeps coming up in conversation. So today, a few quick tips that I was reminded of this week to managing pressure and handling stress:
- learn to recognize the symptoms
- identify the causes
- take action to sort out problems
- pace yourself
- get support
- prioritize relaxation time
- ignore the stress
- keep problems to yourself
- runaway from your problems
- take stress out on colleagues and family
Managing stress is all about taking charge of your thoughts, emotions and choices and the way you deal with problems and issues that arise. There are many things in life are beyond our control— particularly the behavior of other people. So, rather than stressing out over them, focus on the things you can control such as the way you choose to react.
Take a deep breath ~ breathe in ~ breathe out.
The first step to a stress-less day.
